Our 2023 Annual Impact Report is here!

EcoEquitable is a registered charity with a dual purpose of textile waste reduction and women’s empowerment that intersect through the art of sewing.

Textile Waste Reduction

Since 2002, we have been giving a new purpose to fabric and sewing supplies that would otherwise be thrown away. We are passionate about supporting our local circular economy.

Women's Empowerment

Equipping women with skills to become a master seamstress empowers them to pursue their creative passions, generate income, and build community. We are a safe place for women to come together, learn, grow, and thrive.

Sewing a Better Story

We are showing the world a better way to do business that is inclusive, equitable, and environmentally sustainable. When women thrive, communities thrive.

At EcoEquitable, we acknowledge that the land on which we live and work (now called Ottawa) is built on the un-ceded lands of the Algonquin Anishinaabe territory. We stand in solidarity with and honour the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation, First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples and are committed to our role as a social service provider and as residents and allies in this city to support decolonization and justice. We continue to listen, learn, and engage with Indigenous communities to further our progress and understanding of the truth experienced by Indigenous peoples in order to support and catalyze real change.
